CREAM BUN RECIPE | BAKERY STYLE CREAM BUN RECIPE

A sweet roll or sweet bun refers to any of a number of sweet, baked, yeast-leavened breakfast or dessert foods. They may contain spices, nuts, candied fruits, etc., and are often glazed or topped with icing. Compared to regular bread dough, sweet roll dough generally has higher levels of sugar, fat, eggs, and yeast. 

INGREDIENTS


All purpose flour – 250 grms

Sugar – 50 grm

Instant yeast – 1 ½   tsp

Butter – 2 tbsp

Salt – 1/4 tsp [ I have added less , as i have used salted butter ]

METHOD

Preheat oven to 180°C. Grease a baking tray with oil.

Combine refined flour +  Sugar + butter  + salt and  yeast in a bowl.

Add sufficient water and knead into soft dough.

Knead the dough for 10 mins or until it’s smooth and place it on the bowl and cover it with cling wrap and set aside for 1 to 1.5 hrs or until it’s doubled.

Divide the dough into equal parts and take each pieces of dough in between your palm and roll it smooth. Shape them into buns either long or round  .

Place it on the baking tray.

Do the same for the all the dough and cover it with cling wrap and set it aside for 30 mins.

Apply milk wash on the buns and place tray in preheated oven and bake for 20 to 22 minutes.

Remove from heat, cool and serve.

Tasty and fluffy Sweet Bun is ready !

Serve as a delicious accompaniment for your tea, coffee. It goes beautifully well with jams, marmalades, butter , butter cream etc.

BUTTER CREAM RECIPE

INGREDIENTS

  • Butter 50 gm
  • Powdered sugar 50 gm
  • Vanilla extract 1/2 tsp

METHOD

Take butter in a bowl .

Add half of the sugar + vanilla essence. Whip well till creamy.

Now add remaining icing sugar and whip till combined.

Add 1 or 2 tsp  milk if needed  and mix well.

Take the cooled bun, slit it open and  some butter cream on top.

Serve it .
