EGGLESS CHOCOLATE CAKE

INGREDIENTS

  • Maida – 1 ½ cup
  • Baking pwdr – 1 ½ tsp
  • Baking soda – 1 tsp
  • Cocoa pwdr – 2 tbsp [unsweetened ]
  • Instant Coffee pwdr – 1 tsp
  • Chocolate sauce / melted chocolate / choco chips – 2 tbsp
  • Sugar – ¾ cup
  • Oil – 1/3 cup
  • Milk – ½ cup
  • Vanilla essence – 2 tsp

PREPARATION

  1. Sieve the maida + baking soda + baking pwdr + cocoa pwdr + coffee pwdr twice and keep aside .
  2. Grease and dust a 8 inch baking tin .
  3. Preheat the oven at 180 *
  4. Pwdr the sugar

METHOD

In a mixing bowl take sugar + milk + oil + choco sauce + vanilla essence and whisk it well .

Now add in the sieved flour mixture and mix well. [ there should be no lumps ].

Add this batter into the greased tin and tap it .

Bake it at 180 * for 30 – 35 mins until an inserted tooth pick comes out clean.

Allow the cake to cool .

Run a knife around the edges of the tin to loosen the cake .

Invert the tin over a plate .

Decorate it with whipped cream  or simply pour ganache  [chocolate cream ] over it .

NOTES

  1. If you feel the cake is dry then sprinkle little sugar syrup on it to give moistness — Boil 1/4 cup sugar + 1/4 water for few seconds to make a thin syrup.once cooled add 1/2 tsp of vanilla essence.
  2. I used it as a base for my truffle cake .
  3. You can also make muffins .reduce all the quantity of ingredient to half .Bake it for 15 – 20 mins .you will get 6 muffins easily.
