KFC CHICKEN POPCORN
INGREDIENTS
- Boneless chicken [ breast part ] – 250 gms
- Pepper pwdr – 1 tsp or as required
- Egg – 1
- Soya sauce – 1 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Corn flour – 1 tbsp
- Maida / APF – 1 cup
- Chilli pwdr – 1 tbsp
- Oil to deep fry
PREPARATION
- Clean ,wash ,rinse and pat dry the chicken. Chop it into very small bite size chunks.
- Make a mixture of maida + little salt + chilli pwdr for dry coating.
METHOD
Take the chicken pieces in a bowl ,add pepper pwdr + salt + soya sauce + egg + corn flour and mix very well .
Heat oil in a pan.
Take each chicken pieces and roll it in the maida mixture . [ coat it generously with the flour ]
Shake the coated chicken to remove the excess flour.
Slide each coated chicken pieces in the pan and deep fry on medium heat .[don’t over crowd the pan while frying ]
Fry it by turning on all sides till crisp on all sides .[ 8 – 10 mins depending on the size of the chicken pieces ]
Strain and remove on a absorbent paper.
Serve hot with any sauces or dips of your choice.
NOTES
- Chicken should be chopped in marble size .If u see in KFC the chicken is very very less,it is more of flour .
- Dust of the excess flour ,or the oil will become cloudy.
- Instead of chilli pwdr ,you can add pepper pwdr or mixed herbs or oregano to the maida.
- You can also use plain flour without chilli pwdr ,just little salt.
- You can marinate the chicken with Indian masalas like tikka masala for variation .
- You can also double coat the chicken with the flour.
- The same recipe you can try with chicken wings /legs /strips.
- Y not try this recipe with paneer ,instead of egg we can use more cornflour .
