Orange popsicle
ORANGE POPSICLE / ORANGE ICE CANDY
INGREDIENTS
- Fresh Orange juice as required made from fresh pulp sweet oranges.
- Sugar – as per taste and the sweetness of the fruit
- Popsicle moulds
METHOD
Peel and section the oranges and deseed it. Extract juice either by mashing with hands and straining it OR pulse beat in mixie for few seconds. Strain it and keep aside.Don’t add water .
Add sugar and mix well till it dissolves completely .
Don’t add water .Strain it .
Pour the juice in the popsicle mould ,cover and freeze overnight or min 8 hrs.
Once done ,either soak the mould in water for few seconds or keep under running tap for few secs.
Demould the ice candy and serve it .
VARIATION – Instead of sugar I added orange squash .It gave more colour and flavor to the candy.
NOTES
- While blending , pulse beat it or blend on low speed ,so that the seeds don’t get grinded.
- If you don’t have popsicle mould , use paper / plastic cups and cover with aluminium foil and use ice cream sticks.
- Don’t reduce sugar .
- Avoid the seeds.
- You can also add little lemon juice.
- Don’t add water while blending.
- You can also add few small pieces of orange while freezing .
- Some add food colours.
- You can just try this recipe using canned juice or make mixture of squash of any fruit + water and freeze it .
