PAN PIZZA WITH READYMADE PIZZA BASE

INGREDIENTS

  • Pizza base – 2
  • Pizza sauce as required
  • Finely chopped capsicum – ½ cup
  • Finely chopped onion – ½ cup
  • Chopped tomato – ½ cup [ deseeded ]
  • Tomato ketchup – ½ tbsp
  • Oil – 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Grated Mozzarella cheese or processed cheese as required
  • Mixed herbs /oregano / chilli flakes to sprinkle while serving

PREPARATION

  1. Prepare base at home by following this recipe – BASE AT HOME
  2. Finely chop the veggies.
  3. Grate the cheese .

METHOD

Heat 1 tsp oil and add capsicum + onion + tomato all together  and stir fry for one minute on medium flame.[ *** the veges should not get cooked ,it should have the crunch ,and see that it does not sweat / leave water] –

*** You can add chilli pwdr or chilli sauce for spiciness. [optional ]

Adjust salt and off the flame .Mix in the tomato ketchup and keep aside

Take one pizza base and toast it lightly on one side . [ optional you can directly use it ]

Now apply the pizza sauce all over on the toasted side .

Spread a layer of the veges .

Spread the grated cheese generously .

Heat a tava .Once the tava is hot reduce the flame to lowest.

Place the pizza in the centre.

Cover it with a lid or invert a big pan / handi over the pizza . [ the lid should not touch the pizza ]

Cook till the cheese melts. [ 1 minute ]

IMP *** – in between keep checking by lifting the base with a spatula to see that it does not get burnt .

Sprinkle the spices  ,slice and serve it hot .

If required serve with ketchup or sauce.

NOTES

  1. Cheese should be at room temperature so that it doesn’t take much time to melt.
  2. U can make a pizza just using paneer and cheese. Spread sauce + spread grated paneer + grated cheese .
  3. Y not just use loads of grated cheese only and make margarita pizza .
  4. U can use a mixture of different types of cheese .
  5. To reduce cheese u can use crumbled or grated paneer mixed with cheese .
  6. The sauce should not be watery else the base will become soggy.
  7. I use the ready made Funfood pizza topping sauce .
  8. You can add toppings of your choice but it has to be cooked like mushroom ,baby corn ,corn chicken tikka etc.
  9. If you want u can toast it on tava till crisp and then microwave it for 30 seconds for the the cheese to melt completely .
  10. The same stir fried vege mixture can be used for making pizza on bread.

INGREDIENTS FOR HOMEMADE PIZZA SAUCE

  • Tomato – 3 or 4
  • Garlic finely minced – 3
  • Olive oil – 1 tbsp
  • Chilli flakes – ½ tsp
  • Sugar – ½ tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Mixed herbs or oregano – ¼ tsp
  • Pepper pwdr – 1/8 tsp [optional ]
  • Fresh basil leaves – 2 or 3 [ optional ]

METHOD

Boil the tomatoes for 4 to 5 minutes.

Remove the skin, deseed ,chop it roughly and make a puree of it.

Heat oil in a pan add the garlic and stir fry . [ Colour should not change and should not get burnt]

Add chilli flakes and give a stir .

Add tomato puree and cook for some time .

Add herbs + pepper pwdr + salt + sugar + basil leaves and mix well .

Simmer on low flame till the sauce thickens.

Off the flame and let it cool .

Store in airtight container for 1 week in fridge .
