DIFFERENT TYPES OF SANDWICHES

A sandwich is a food typically consisting of vegetables, sliced cheese or meat, placed on or between slices of bread, or more generally any dish wherein bread serves as a container or wrapper for another food type.

Ingredients:-

  • 3 slices of bread.
  • Butter.
  • Green chutney.
  • Grated cheese or cheese  slice .
  • Chaat masala .                                                           

METHOD

Take 3 slices of bread .[ no need of cutting the edge]

On two slices  apply butter first then green chutney .

Grate or place cheese slice  and sprinkle chaat masala on both.

Now close both the bread with the plain bread in between.

Grease the tawa or non stick pan  with ghee or butter.

Place the sandwich on the tawa on low flame.

Place a lid or a steel plate on the sandwich with a heavy thing on the top to press the sandwich  (As shown in the pic).

Toast on both the sides  till it becomes brown and crispy.

The melted cheese  with  the center bread gives u a taste of boiled potatoes .

Serve hot with sauce and chutney.

    NO NEED OF TOASTER

NOTE

  1. Use tava  , no need of a sandwich toaster. It’s  quicker than a toaster and at a time you can make 4 sandwiches .
  2. Same procedure you  can try with veg stuffed sandwiches /with aloo ki sabji / kheema /egg or paneer burgi etc.
  3. For paneer  sandwich ,take  grated paneer  + little chaat masala +  finely chopped coriander leaves + grated cheese .
  4. While making  veg stuffed sandwiches  instead  of  putting  veg roundels , chop the veges into small small cubes ,so that the kids don’t remove the veges .

Method for making green chutney

Ingredients:-

  • 1 cup  of coriander leaves .
  • 1/4 cup of mint leaves .
  • 1 small onion
  • 2 chillies as per taste .
  • 1 tsp Sugar .
  • Salt as per taste .
  • 2 Tsp lemon juice.
  • 1/2 tsp chaat masala.

Blend all the above ingredients  to smooth paste by adding  little water.

You can give it a variation by  adding  freshly scraped coconut /bread slice/curd/little tamarind/garlic etc of your choice.
