Tawa pulao is one of the popular street foods of India. a popular and spicy street style pulao recipe made with long grain rice and pav bhaji masala. it is a widely appreciated quick pulao recipe in india

     INGREDIENTS

  • Cooked basmati rice   [ 200 Gms ]
  • Cooked veges potato + green peas + cauliflower + diced carrot   – 2 cup
  • 2  Tomatoes finely chopped
  • 2  tbs oil/butter
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1  Onion finely chopped
  • 1 /2  tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 1/2  or 2  tbsp  everest Pav bhaji masala
  • Chilli pwdr as required
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2   cup Green capsicum finely chopped
  • Finely chopped fresh coriander leaves chopped
  • Lemon juice
  • Few  fried paneer cubes and fried cashew nuts for garnish

METHOD

Clean ,wash ,rinse and soak 200 gms basmati rice for 30 mins. Cook till done.rice has to be grainy not very soft and mushy .

Chop the veges into small piece and cook it .

Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds and let it crackle and turn brown.

Add the onion and saute till lightly brown.

Add ginger paste, garlic paste and saute till raw smell leaves.

Add tomatoes and saute till tomatoes becomes soft and oil separates.

Add the finely chopped capsicum and saute.

Add the pav bhaji masala and salt and stir for few seconds.

Add the green peas, carrot ,potato and sprinkle little water.

Mix and cook for a minute so that the veges blend with th masalas  .

Add the cooked rice and mix  well and cook on high flame for 1 min.

Add coriander leaves and lemon juice .

Garnish with paneer and cashew and serve.

NOTE

  1. Use basmati rice.
  2. Veges shoud be of small size ,dont chop into big size.
  3. Taste better with butter.
  4. The pav bhaji stall in Bombay prepare it earlier and while serving they toss the rice with butter                                                                                    on the same tava on which pav bhaji is prepared.
  5. It tasted better the next day.
  6. You can also add beans.
  7. It can also be made with left over rice.
  8. You can add chilli pwdr to make it spicy.
  9. You can also use left over pav bhaji.
