Tricolour rice recipe
TRICOLOUR RICE
Main ingredient cooked basmati rice – Soak rice in water for ½ an hour. Cook with salt. Don’t over cook the rice.It should be grainy.
FOR ORANGE / SCHEZWAN RICE
Ingredient
- Cooked rice –2 cup
- Finely chopped onion-2 tbsp
- Finely chopped veges – 1/2 cup [carrot , cabbage]
- Schzewan sauce – 2 tbsp https://maryzkitchen.com/schezwan-sauce-recipe/
- Salt as per taste
- Oil 2 tsp
METHOD
Heat oil in a pan.
Add the onions and fry till translucent.
Add the carrot and beans cook for sometime.
Add the cabbage and fry for few seconds.
Add the sauce and mix well adjust salt.
Add the rice and mix well .
Cook for for a min.
Keep aside.
Note – I have not used beans any veges or spring onion for garnishing .
WHITE RICE – GHEE RICE
INGREDIENTS
- Cooked rice -2 cup
- Ghee- 1tbsp
METHOD
Heat the ghee .
Add the rice and mix well.
Note –I have not used any spices or cashew for garnishing
You can also make curd rice ,jeera rice etc
GREEN RICE – PALAK RICE
Ingredients
- Cooked rice -2 cup
- Palak puree- 3/4 cup
- Ginger, garlic and green chilli paste-2 tsp
- Salt as per taste
- Ghee -1tbsp
METHOD
Heat ghee in a pan
Add the ginger, garlic and chilly paste and fry.
Add the palak puree and mix well.
Adjust salt.
Add the rice and mix well till all the rice gets coated with the masala.
Cook for 2 mins.
FOR ASSEMBLING
Take a rectangle shape foil.
Make the figure of the flag with the edge of a spoon.
Spoon in the orange rice on top, ghee rice in middle and green rice in the bottom .
The chakra I made it with paper as did not want to use blue food colour.You can use a onion ring .
Note
- Instead of palak puree you can use coriander and mint leaves paste.
- Instead of ghee rice you can make curd rice.
- Instead of schezwan rice you can make tomato rice.
- Nowhere I have used colour.
- I have not used much spices or garnishing as I wanted to highlight the plain colour of the rice.
