WHITE CHOCOLATE CAKESICLES

Unlike a cake pop, which is made by rolling a cake and frosting combo into a ball (or another shape) then dipping it in chocolate or candy melts, a cakesicle is created by painting the chocolate into a popsicle mold, then filling the hardened candy shell with the cake/frosting mixture.

Cakesicles are a fun twist on a traditional cake pop. Crafted in popsicle molds, cakesicles are an easy-to-make version of the ever-popular treat with a chocolate shell surrounding a blend of cake and frosting.

White chocolate cakesicles

INGREDIENTS

  • Vanilla sponge cake or any leftover cake crumbled – 2 or 2 1/2 cup
  • White chocolate compound bits – 1/2 cup
  • Fresh cream – 3 or 4 tbsp
  • White compound chocolate bits – 1 1/2 cup
  • Oil /butter – 2 tsp [ oil without smell ]
  • Sprinklers or any decorative items as required
  • Cakesicle mould and sticks

PREPARATION

Chop the compound chocolate into small bits using knife

*** I have given the chocolate quantity in cups measurement as I don’t have a kitchen weighing scale.

                                                                         STEP 1

Either bake a cake freshly or use leftover  cake or buy readymade cupcakes and crumble it well with hands ,see that there are no lumps. We need smooth textured .

Take 1/2 cup white compound chocolate bits  in a microwave bowl and microwave for 30 seconds.

Remove and mix it with a spatula.

Again microwave for 30 secs .

Remove and add the fresh cream , mix well .

And microwave again for 30 secs .

Mix well till smooth  and pour it over the cake crumbs and mix well .

Mix and  make a smooth dough .

Take a portion of dough and roll it .

Fill the mould with the dough and press it ,so that it spreads evenly .

Pass the stick through upto the level shown in the video .

Even on the top try giving a smooth finish .

Slice off if excess dough is there.

Now refrigerate this for an hr .

                                                                 STEP 2 [ after 1 hr ]

Again take a microwave bowl with  1 1/2 cup of white chocolate bits .

Microwave for 30 secs .

Remove mix well and microwave again for 30 secs.

Again remove add oil /butter and microwave for 30 secs till smooth pouring consistency without any lumps .

*** always use a spatula ,it helps in scraping the excess from the edges of the bowl .

Now pour this in a small glass .

Remove the cakesicles from the fridge .

Unmould it carefully .

Now take each cakesicle and dip it in the melted chocolate .

*** You can also dip 2 at a time ,this helps in increasing the level of chocolate.

Swirl it so that it is evenly covered by the chocolate on all sides .

Hold the cakesicle over the chocolate so that excess chocolate drips down.

Now immediately decorate it with the sprinklers of your choice.

Be quick as the chocolate hardens fast .

Place the cakesicles over a butter paper or foil.

Within few minutes the cakesicles set .

Cakesicles are ready to serve .

How to make cakesicles

VARIATIONS

  1. You can use chocolate cake with dark chocolate compound .
  2. You can use any cake ,red velvet ,any flavoured . etc Just play with any combination of your choice .
  3. I used left over cake .
  4. You can aslo mix match,use vanilla cake with dark chocolate covering .
Homemade cakesicles recipe

NOTES

  1. Cakesicles can be kept in room temperature for few hrs, else keep in fridge .
  2. Cakesicle mould are easily available in cake shops or online .
  3. In markets ,each cakesicles can cost you 50 rs and above.
  4. You can also make without the moulds ,just try shaping with hands .
  5. We can decorate it with small fondant decorative items.
  6. Same recipe goes for cake pops ,only we make small balls with a lollipop stick.
