mutton in green masala
MUTTON IN GREEN MASALA
INGREDIENTS
- Mutton – ½ kg
- Onion -1
- Coriander leaves – 3 cup
- Mint leaves – 1 cup
- Green chilli – 5 or as per taste
- Ginger garlic paste – 1 tbsp
- Coriander pwdr – 2 tsp
- Garam masala – 1 tsp
- Fennel seed pwdr – 1 tsp [ optional ]
- Whole garam masala – few [clove, cardamom, tejpatta, cinnamom ]
- Oil – 2 tbsp
- Salt as per taste.
PREPARATION –
Marinate the mutton with little salt and lemon juice for minimum 1 hr or overnight.
Make fine paste of onion + coriander leaves + mint leaves + green chilli + ginger garlic paste.
METHOD
Heat oil in a cooker.
Add the whole garam masala and let it splutter [don’t burn]
Add the onion paste and fry till oil separates.
Add garam masala pwdr + coriander pwdr + turmeric pwdr + fennel seed pwdr and fry till raw smell leaves.
Add mutton and fry for 2 minutes.
Add ½ or 1 cup water and mix well .
Adjust salt ,close the pressure cooker.
Cook till mutton is done [ 4-5 whistles]
NOTES
- I have used potato also ,use big pieces of potato.
- Water quantity depends on the consistency you want.
- You can also cook without pressure cooker, but it will take long time.
- I have used boneless mutton.
