Paneer masala sandwich
PANEER MASALA SANDWICH
INGREDIENTS
- Paneer or Cottage cheese, crumbled or grated – 200 gms
- Onion – 1 medium, finely chopped.
- Tomatoes – 1 medium, finely chopped.
- Green chilly finely chopped 1 (optional )
- Chilli pwdr – 1 tsp.
- Coriander powder – 2 tsp.
- Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp.
- Garam masala – ½ tsp .
- Pav bhaji masala – ½ tsp [ gvs more flavor]
- Kasoori methi powder – ½ tsp.
- Salt – to taste.
- Coriander leaves finely chopped – to garnish.
- Bread slices as required .
- Butter
- Green chutney / sweet chutney / sauce for serving
METHOD
Grate or mash the paneer or crumble and keep aside.
Heat oil in a pan on medium flame. Add the finely chopped onions, saute for a while till they become soft saute them for 3-4 mins.
Add the chopped tomatoes and fry them till they are cooked.
Add chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder , pav bhaji masala and garam masala powder and mix well. Sprinkle a few drops of water if required.
Then add the paneer mix very nicely so that all the spices blend together.Cover and cook for a min. Garnish with a handful of finely chopped coriander and kasoori methi pwdr . Keep aside to cool .
Take bread slices ,apply butter on one side of all bread.
Spread the paneer mixture on one slice and cover it with other bread slice .
Toast it in a toaster or toast it on a tava till crispy and golden.
Serve hot with green chutney and ketchup.
While serving , garnish with grated cheese .
NOTES
- If you want , you can apply a layer of green chutney .
- variation – You can also make a mixture of paneer + chilli pwdr + chaat masala + coriander leaves etc.
- Variation – You can make a mixture of paneer + cheese + oregano + chilli flakes + salt + coriander leaves + onion.
- You can add spices and masalas of your choice.
- You can add finely chopped capsicum or cooked peas also .
- I don’t have a toaster so toasted on a tava.
