SATTU KA SHARBAT / HEALTHY PROTEIN DRINK /SATTU DRINK / WEIGHT LOSS DRINK
A healthy, economical, home made protein drink to beat the heat. Sattu drink can be meetha (sweet) or namkeen (savory).
When consumed on an empty stomach, sattu stimulates the growth of the red blood cells in the body. When your body has more red blood cells, your body gets more oxygen, which provides you with more energy throughout the day. Sattu keeps your body hydrated and helps you beat the summer heat.
WHAT IS SATTU
Sattu is prepared by dry roasting grains or grams, most often barley or bengal gram. In Odisha, Sattu or Chatua is made by dry roasting chashew, almonds, millets, barley and chickpea and grinding to a fine flour.
The difference being that whereas besan is the flour of raw gram, sattu is the flour of the roasted gram and may look slightly coarser than besan. Besan is raw gram flour only , but sattu is prepared not only of roasted gram but many other cereals.
There are variety of sattu made from different millets ,grains ,pulses ,cereals etc .
INGREDIENTS [ 6 SERVINGS ]
• 6 tbsp Sattu ka aata / powder [ roasted gram flour ]
• 6 tbsp sugar /jaggery (you can skip if you don’t want)
• 3 lemons
• 1 tsp black salt
• ½ tsp normal salt
• Few washed mint leaves
• 1 green chilli deseeded and cut in small roundels
• Chilled water
METHOD
1. In serving glasses, add 1 tbsp Sattu powder, 1 tbsp sugar, squeeze half of lemon, both the salts upto ur taste, few mint leaves in each.
2. Add chilled water and give a good stir so Sattu is mixed nicelyv with other ingredients .
3. At last , add little chopped green chilli in the glass and serve.
