Besan cheela
BESAN CHEELA / BESAN DOSA / VEGETARIAN OMELETTE
INGREDIENTS
- Besan – 2 cup
- Curd – 2 tbsp
- Red chilli pwdr – ½ tsp.
- Turmeric – a pinch
- Chaat masala + amchur – ¼ tsp
- Ginger + garlic + green chilli paste – 1 tbsp
- Asafoetida – a pinch.
- Onion very finely chopped – 1 big
- Finely chopped coriander leaves – 3 tbsp
- Salt as per taste.
- Ghee or oil to drizzle
- Baking soda – 1/4 tsp
METHOD
Mix all the ingredients with enough water till you get the consistency of dosa batter or beaten egg.
Take a non stick frying pan on high flame.
Wipe it with a wet cloth .
Pour a ladle of the batter and spread it to form a thin dosa.
Once spread reduce the flame to medium low.
Drizzle little oil or gheeand cook till it the bottom turns light golden.
Flip on the other side and cook for sometime till both the sides are crisp and light golden in colour .
Serve it hot with any chutney or sauce.
VARIATION
In the same batter I add 1 tsp of eno and made besan appes in appe pan they were yum .
NOTES
- Be careful it has to be cooked on low flame or it will not get cooked evenly and will get burnt.
- It has to be thin .
- The batter should not be thick.
- You can add ajwain.
- You can also add tomatoes ,cheese or grated vegetables to it.
- You can also make stuffed cheelas like masala dosa.
