INGREDIENTS

  • Kabuli Chana white or brown – 100 gms
  • Oil – 2 tbsp
  • Onion finely chopped – 2
  • Chilli pwdr – 1 tsp
  • Coriander pwdr – 1 tsp
  • Everest chole masala – 1 tbsp
  • Finely chopped tomato – 1
  • Green chilli slit – 1
  • Finely sliced ginger – small piece
  • Chaat masala – ¼ tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Kasoori methi – little [ optional ]

PREPARATION

Clean ,wash and soak the kabuli chana overnight .

Pressure cook it till soft . first whistle on medium flame after first whistel lower the flam eand cook for 12 to 15 mins

METHOD

Heat oil in a pan .

Add the onions and fry till golden brown .

Add 1 tsp chilli pwdr + 1 tsp coriander pwdr + 1 tbsp Everest chole masala and fry for few seconds on low flame.

Add tomato + chilli + ginger + salt and fry for few seconds till tomato becomes soft .

Add the cooked chana and mix well.

Drizzle little water and cook for 3 – 4 mins on low flame .

Sprinkle chaat masala and mix well .

Off the flame.

Serve with chapatti or rice .

NOTES

  1. I made it dry .
  2. You can also add kasoori methi for more flavour.
  3. Why not drizzle few drops of lemon juice in the end.

Chana masala pwdr @ home :-   1 tsp dry pomegranate seeds [anardana] + coriander seeds – 3 tsp + 1 tsp jeera + 1 cardamom + ½ tsp black pepper + 3 cloves + cinnamom – a small piece + 7 red chilli  + ¼ tsp black salt .

Dry roast all the above ingredients and make a fine pwdr of it and use it .
