EASY COOKER CHOLE
EASY COOKER CHOLE MASALA
Chana masala, also known as channay, chole masala, chhole masala, chole or chholay, is a dish originating from the Indian subcontinent. The main ingredient is a variety of chickpea called chana or kala chana.
INGREDIENTS
- Chickpeas /kabuli chana 250 gms (Soak it in normal water for 7-8 hours or overnight)
- Chopped onion – 2 big
- Tomato – 2 big
- Tomato ketchup – 1 tsp
- Sugar – ½ tsp
- Ginger garlic paste -2 tsp
- Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp
- Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
- Red chilli powder – 1 to 1.5 tsp
- Cumin powder – 1/2 tsp
- Coriander powder – 1/2 tsp
- Garam masala powder – ½ tsp
- Salt to taste or 1.5 tsp
- Chole masala – 2 tsp
- Cooking oil-2 or 3 tbsp
- Coriander leaves finely chopped for garnish

Puree the tomato with 1 tsp ketchup + salt + ½ tsp sugar.
Heat oil in a pressure cooker pan.
Add onion and stir fry till light brown .
Add ginger garlic paste and stir fry till raw smell leaves.
Add tomato puree and stir fry till oil separates .
Add all the masala pwdrs and mix well.
Stir fry for a min .
Add the soaked chole and mix well .
Stir and cook for amin .
Add 2 or 21/2 cup of water and mix it well .
Adjust salt if needed .
Pressure cook it on medium flame till first whistle.
Now turn the flame to lowest and pressure cook upto 12 to 15 mins.
[ this is my way of pressure cooking , you can cook upto 5 or 6 whsitles . Each cooker cooking time varies ]
Open and give a nice mix .
Chole masala is ready to serve, serve it hot with jeera rice, plain rice, poori ,phulkas , roti , bhatura or paratha.
NOTE –
Same recipe you can try with kala kabuli chana and rajma .
Adjust masalas as per taste .
If you don’t have chana masala , then use 2 tsp coriander pwdr and 1 tsp garam masala pwdr .
