Easy prawns masala
EASY PRAWNS MASALA
INGREDIENTS
- Medium size prawns – 25 – 30
- Onion chopped – 1
- Tomato chopped – 1
- Oil – 1 tbsp
- Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp
- Curry leaves – few
- Red chilli pwdr – 1 ½ tsp or as per taste
- Turmeric – ¼ tsp
- Coriander pwdr – 2 ½ tsp
- Garam masala – ½ tsp
- Salt to taste
- Finely chopped coriander leaves for garnish
PREPARATION
Remove the shell and devein the prawns .Clean ,wash , rinse it and keep aside.
METHOD
Heat oil in a pan , add onion + curry leaves and fry till light brown.
Add tomatoes and fry till soft and oil separates.
Add chilli pwdr + turmeric + coriander pwdr + garam masala pwdr + salt and fry for few seconds.
Add the prawns and mix well.
Stir fry for 1 minute.
Cover and cook till the prawns sweat .[ leaves water]
Once it sweats ,open the lid and cook on medium flame till the prawns are cooked and water is evaporated.[ 12 – 15 minutes ]
Once done garnish with coriander leaves.
Serve hot as side dish for rice or chapatti.
NOTES
- Don’t overcook prawns else it becomes rubbery.
- Adjust masalas as per your taste.
- Add 1 tsp of coconut oil for more flavour.
