Masala idli
MASALA IDLI / PODI IDLI
INGREDIENTS
- Idlis – 2 or 3 [cut into triangles or cubed or use mini idlis ]
- Idli podi / gun powder / molgapodi – 1 tbsp or as per taste
- Sambar powder – ¼ tsp [optional]
- Sesame oil / olive oil /regular oil /ghee / gingelly oil– 1 tbsp
- Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp
- Onion finely sliced – 1
- Curry leaves – few
- Finely chopped coriander leaves
- Salt to taste

METHOD
Add the idli podi + sambar masala + ½ tbsp oil + coriander leaves to the idlis and mix well so that it is evenly coated. [ even little salt can be added now ]
Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds and let it crackle.
Add onion + curry leaves and fry till translucent .
Add the idlis and mix well.
Serve with any chutneys or have it plain.
NOTES
- You can also add veges like carrot, capsicum ,peas ,corn etc
- Y not add tomatoes.
- Also try adding sum other masalas.
- If your idli podi is less spicy you can add little chilli pwdr.
- You can also add crushed or paste of ginger garlic.
- While tempering you can also add peanuts / cashew /chana dal /urad dal.
