Multi flavoured zebra cake baked in cooker .
ZEBRA CAKE / MULTI FLAVOURED CAKE BAKED IN COOKER
FOR ZEBRA CAKE
INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup maida/all multi purpose flour.
- 3/4 cup Sugar.
- 2 Eggs at room tempt . [Egg can be replaced with milkmaid or curd]
- 1/2 cup Milk. [room tempt ]
- 1/2 cup Oil (any oil without odourless and colourless even olive oil will do )
Instead of oil u can use butter 150 gms. - 1 1/2 tsp Vanilla essence.
- 1 tsp Baking powder .
- 1 tbsp Cocoa powder.
- 5 inch Cake pan.

PREPARATION
- Preheat the oven at 180* c
- Sieve maida with baking powder 2 – 3 times
- Grease and flour cake tin.
METHOD
Method 1 if using oil
Beat the eggs well with an electric hand mixer till it doubles in volume and becomes light and fluffy .
Then add sugar and beat until the mixture is creamy, now add milk + oil and Vanilla essence and mix well.
Add maida and mix it using the cut and fold method.
Method 2 if using butter
First beat the butter till soft then add sugar and beat and lastly add the egg .
Beat till fluffy.
Then continue with the above method by adding rest of the ingredients.
BAKING :-
Now divide the batter into two equal parts. To one part mix cocoa powder and keep the other part plain.
Now pour 1 laddle of plain batter in the center of the baking pan.
Then pour 1 laddle of cocoa batter on top of the vanilla batter and so on till u finish alternatively pouring the batter.
Do not shake and allow it to spread all over by lightly tapping the tin.
Bake it in pre heated oven at 180 * for about 25 – 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean. [Check after 20 minutes.]
Remove the cake from the oven, leave it to cool.
Loosen it from the sides by running a knife around thhe edges of the tin .
Now invert it on a plate.
Your cake is ready..
Multiflavoured cake in cooker
You can try this recipe with many flavours .For that you have to double the quantity of the ingredients in the above recipe of zebra cake and divide the batter innto 4 sections. Add 1 tsp of each of the flavours with few drops of food colours.
I have tried with 4 flavors
- Vanilla
- Pineapple with yellow colour
- Straw berry with red colour
- And chocolate powder.
You can try with any flavors and colours.
BAKING IN COOKER – Cooker cake
- Preheat the cooker for 5 mins on high flame.
- Then place a stand in the centre without touching the sides of the cooker with a help of tongs.
- Place the tin with batter on the stand.
- Remove the gasket and whistle from the lid of the cooker.
- Cover the cooker and bake for 20-30 mins on very low flame.
- It took me 20 mins.
- So after 20 mins do the tooth prick test.
- Not only cooker you can also use a thick pan or kadai with a lid . Same procedure like that of cooker.
