Cheese corn potato balls
CHEESE CORN POTATO BALLS
INGREDIENTS
- Mashed potato – 2 cup
- Fresh bread slices – 2 or 3
- Corn – 1 ½ cup
- Grated cheese – 3 cubes or more
- Finely chopped coriander leaves – 2 tbsp or more
- Chilli flakes – as required
- Pepper pwdr – as required
- Oregano – as required [ optional ]
- Salt as per tastes
- Oil to deep fry
PREPARATION
- Boil the potatoes , peel and mash it well into a smooth dough.
- Blend the bread slices into powder.
- Either buy separated corn kernels or full corn . Boil it . If boiling the corn then slice it with a knife as shown in the pic.
METHOD
Take the mashed potato in a big plate.
Add the bread pwdr + salt + pepper pwdr and knead it well into a soft dough.
Divide it into equal portions and roll it into ball.[ if time provides keep in fridge for sometime ]
Make a mixture of corn + chilli fakes + cheese + coriander leaves + oregano .No need to add salt as we are adding cheese.[ keep in fridge for sometime ]
Take a potato ball and flatten it with your hands. [ not very thick ]
Spoon in the mixture of corn in the centre.
Bring the edges of the potato together and roll it into a ball.
Heat oil in a kadai.
Deep fry the balls on medium flame till golden brown by turning it .[ don’t burn it ]
Serve hot with sauce.
NOTES
- You can also add finely chopped capsicum together with the corn.
- Adjust the quantity of ingredients as per your taste
- You can also dip the balls in cornflour batter , roll it in dry bread crumbs pwdr and deep fry it.
- More the cheese better the taste.
Here I have coated it with bread crumbs and also added capsicum
