INGREDIENTS

  • Cooked sevai or idiappam crumbled – 2 cup
  • Lemon juice of 1 lemon or as per your taste
  • Oil + ghee – 1 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds + chana dal + urad dal – 1 ½ tsp
  • Curry leaves – few
  • Red chilli – 1 broken
  • Green chilli – 1 chopped
  • Asafoetida – a pinch
  • Cashew nuts fried – few [ broken ]
  • Grated ginger – 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric pwdr – ¼ tsp
  • Finely chopped coriander leaves for garnish

PREPARATION

Prepare idiappam following this recipe : –  Idiyappam recipe    or ragi sevai  after preparing ,allow it to cool and loosen it .

OR

Use bambino or concord rice vermicelli or anil semiya

METHOD

Heat oil + ghee in a pan , add mustard seeds + urad dal and fry till the dals turn light brown on medium flame.

Add green chilli + grated ginger + curry leaves + turmeric + asafoetida and saute for few secs.

Adjust salt .

Add the cooked sevai and mix well till it gets coated completely coated with the tempering .

Drizzle the lemon juice , give a quick stir and off the flame .

Garnish with cashew and coriander leaves .

Serve with coconut chutney .

NOTES

  1. You can also add peanuts or chana dal.
  2. Finally you can also garnish with freshly grated coconut .
  3. After adding lemon juice off the flame immediately .
  4. It tastes same like lemon rice.
