MAHARASHTRIAN ONION PEANUT CHUTNEY

Spicy Maharashtrian Chutney is an easy and incredibly flavorful condiment. It has a very sharp tart and tangy taste with overpowering garlic flavor.

This chutney is special in Maharashtra regions. This chutney goes well with almost every snack item also with vada pav .

The main ingredient for this chutney is garlic that provides the most of the flavour for this chutney.

Lemon juice adds tanginess to the recipe.

It is an excellent accompaniment for Vada pav, Kanda bhaji pav, samosa pav, and batata bhaji pav. You can even try this out with toasted buttered bread or have it with khichdi / dal rice . It enhances the taste .

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup roasted peanut
  • 3 – 4 green chillies
  • 10 -12 garlic cloves
  • 1 medium onion thinly sliced
  • Salt to taste
  • 4 – 5 drops or as needed lemon juice
  • ½  cup finely chopped Coriander

METHOD

Grind garlic, green chillies and peanut coarsely.

Heat oil, add chopped onion and saute well.

Then add grinded stuff, coriander,salt mix well.

Sprinkle little bit water and mix 

Add lemon juice cover and keep on low flame for 2-3 minutes.

Done.

Serve as side dish .
