Green chicken gravy recipe
GREEN CHICKEN GRAVY
INGREDIENTS FOR THE CHICKEN MARINATION
- Boneless chicken [chopped in small cubes] -250 gms
- Curd- 2 tbsp
- Ginger + garlic paste – 2 tsp
- Finely chopped green chilli – as per taste
- Finely chopped coriander leaves -1 tbsp
- Garam masala – ½ tsp
- Salt as per taste.
- Oil-1 tbsp for cooking the chicken
- Fresh cream – 1 tbsp.
METHOD
Marinate the chicken with the above ingredients except for oil and cream.
Place a thick pan with oil on medium flame.
Once hot add the marinated chicken .
Stir well and cover it .
Open after 5 mins ,the chicken sheds[leaves] water.
Now cook without covering till complete water evaporates and the chicken is coated with oil.
Off the gas and stir in the cream and mix well .
Keep aside.
NOTE
This can be used as a starter with green chutney.Kids love it, but while preparing for kids avoid green chilli and add pepper powder.
INGREDIENTS FOR THE GRAVY
- Oil + ghee -1 tbsp
- Whole garam masala few [clove + cardamom+black pepper+cinnamom+bayleaves]
- Onion – 1 big
- Capsicum – 1 big
- cORIANDER LEAVES – 1 cup
- Green chilli – as per taste
- Ginger + garlic paste -2tsp
- Cashew nut – 10
- Garam masala pwdr – ½ tsp
- chaat masala – 1/2 tsp
- Fresh cream for garnishing
- Salt as per taste
PREPARATION
Soak the cashew nut in warm water for 30 mins and make a fine paste by adding little water.
Make a paste of onion + capsicum + ginger garlic paste + green chilli +garam masala pwdr + coriander leaves + chaat masala
METHOD
Heat oil in a pan.
Add the whole garam masala.
Let it crackle.
Add the onion paste and fry till oil separates.
Add the cashew paste and fry.
Keep stirring else the cashew paste will stick to the bottom.
Add 2 cup of water. [as per the consistency you want]
Add the chicken and mix well.
Cook for 2 mins and off the flame.
Garnish with cream .
You can also sprinkle little kasoori methi pwdr for extra flavor
Serve hot with naan ,jeera rice or ghee rice.
NOTE – adjust masalas as per your taste.
