STREET STYLE CHICKEN KHEEMA RECIPE

This is how it was served in the stall

I had this chicken kheema at a street side stall opposite Vashi station and raghuleela mall in Vashi  Navi Mumbai .This stall operates from 10 at night to morning 4 .

Their way of making this kheema was different . On asking they gave me a recipe in short which helped me in making at home .And yes I could do justice to their recipe.

My way of making same recipe

They used Maharashtrian  ghati masala , I replaced it with garam masala.

Also while eating some customers added schezwan chutney and relished it.

On the same tawa the boys mixed some cooked basamati rice and served kheema rice .

went well with basmati rice also

INGREDIENTS

  • Chicken kheema – 250 grms
  • Chilli pwdr –  1 or 2 tsp
  • Garam masala pwdr / kitchen king masala – ¾  tsp
  • Coriander pwdr – 1 ½ tsp
  • Turmeric – a pinch
  • Ginger garlic paste –  2 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil – 2 tbsp
  • Finely chopped onion – 1 big
  • Finely minced garlic – 1 tsp
  • Finely chopped spring onion greens – 2 tbsp
  • Finely chopped coriander leaves – 2 tbsp
  • Lemon slices
  • Schezwan chutney as needed while serving [ optional ]
  • Pav as needed

METHOD

Pressure cook the kheema + chilli pwdr + garam masala pwdr + turmeric + coriander pwdr + ginger garlic paste + salt + ¼ to ½ cup water  upto 1 whistle .Once done off the flame and let the pressure release on own .Check the texture and consistency of the kheema in the video .it should not be watery .

Now in a pan heat oil.

Add garlic and onion and stir fry for a min till pink .

Add the kheema and mix mell .

Stir and cook for 1 or 2 mins on high flame.

Lower the flame add spring onion greens + coriander leaves and give amix.

Off the flame.

Serve hot kheema with lemon slice and pav.

VARIATIONS – add schezwan chutney and mix while serving .

We can also sprinkle chaat masala .
