INGREDIENTS
- Manna flour – 2 cup
- Grated jaggery – 1 cup
- Water – 1/2 cup [ 1/4 cup water ofr dry burfis and 1/2 cup water for moist burfis ]
- Ghee – ½ cup
PREPARATION
- Dry roast flour for on low flame till aromatic .Colour should not change and don’t burn it .
- Grease a tray .
METHOD
Heat jaggery + water in a pan .
Boil it till it thickens . [Don’t over cook string consistency not required]
Add ghee to the syrup and mix well .
Add the flour mixture to the jaggery syrup and mix well .
Mix well .
immediately transfer the mixture to the grease tray and spread it .
Use a flat spatula and press well from all sides.
Spread some chopped nuts / poppy seeds all over and press again .
Slice into desired shapes and allow to cool .
after the burfis cool down well and maintains shape , remove it .
Healthy burfis are ready to serve .
Store in airtight container .
NOTES
- Instead of jaggery we can use sugar.
- The more the ghee ,more the soft burfis .
- If the mixture is dry ,u can use little warm milk to give moisture .
