How to boil and use jackfruit seeds

  1. These nutty seeds can either be eaten boiled, roasted or converted into flour. The food industry makes use of the seed flour as a binding agent in certain food preparations. It has also gained fame for being in several Indian delicacies and delectable desserts.

METHOD

Dessed the jack fruit.

Wash the jackfruit seed and add it in pressure cooker along with enough water.

Add required salt and cover the pressure cooker with lid.

Pressure cook it for 3 whistle.

Allow the pressure to release .

Open and remove the seeds.

 Allow to cool .

The outer covering will be hard .

 Crack open it.

Peel the outer white skin of  the seed .

Scrape the brown part or have it with it .

Seeds are ready to eat .

Chop it and make any gravy or sabjis.

NOTE-

  1. Chop it , toss in butter , sprinkle chilli flakes and salt and serve .
  2. It requires the same amount of time  like potatoes. 
  3. The outer skin of seed is little hard , be careful in peeling.
  4. The brown skin inside the outer skin is edible.
