Tandoori chicken IN COOKER recipe
TANDOORI CHICKEN IN COOKER RECIPE
Ingredients
- 600 grms Chicken breast or thigh portion .or leg portion
- 1 tbsp of ginger and garlic paste .
- 2 tbsp of thick or hung curd.
- 1 1/2 tsp of chilli pwdr or as per taste.
- 1/4 tsp of turmeric pwdr.
- 1/2 tsp garam masala .
- 1/2 tsp chaat masala
- 1 tsp kasoori methi .
- a pinch of red tandoori colour optional.
- salt as per taste.
- Oil for brushing.
- Oven stand .
METHOD
Clean the chicken and give slits all over . I have used chicken breast but you can use any part or even a whole chicken .
Marinate the chicken with curd,ginger-garlic paste,salt and all the masala pwdr.
Refrigerate it for minimum an hour or overnight.
More the marination better the absorbent of masala.
take a cooker with 1 cup water.Place the cooker stand .
Now place a plate with the marinated chicken pieces .
Cover and pressure cook on medium flame for 2 whistles .
once done , let the pressure release on its own.
open and remove the chicken pieces .
Place a zali as shown in pic over the stove .
You can cover the side of the burner with foil so that it becomes easy to clean the stove if the masala drips while roasting. I did not cover.
Rub the top of the stand with little oil so that the chicken doesn’t stick to it.
Now place the chicken over it.
Roast it on medium flame.
In between keep turning the chicken.
Also brush little oil or butter on it.
Roast till you see dark spots appearing all over .
Once done , remove from stand sprinkle little chat masala.
Serve it hot with lemon and green chutney.
NOTE
The same marinated chicken can be shallow fried .
