GULGULA RECIPE | GOOLGOOLA RECIPE | BANANA JAGGERY GULGULE /BANANA DOUGHNUT RECIPE

Gulgula is a small fried sweet balls originating in India but enjoyed across the world under different names. Made with wheat flour , sugar / jaggery ,  banana / yoghurt and flavoured with cardamom powder and fennelseeds .These small balls are fried in hot oil until crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 very ripe banana
  • ¼ cup sugar or jaggery + ¼ water
  • ¼ cup water / milk
  • 1 cup wheat flour
  • 1 tsp fennel seeds
  • Pinch of salt
  • Pinch of baking powder / baking soda
  • Oil for frying

METHOD

Take jaggery + ¼ cup water in apna and cook till jaggery melts completely .off the flame and let it cool .

Take banana in a mixie jar and blend it.

Take flour + salt + fennel seeds+ baking soda and mix well.

Now filter and add the syrup + banana puree + ¼ cup water / milk and mix well.

Adjust the conisistency as shown in video.

Heat the oil in a pan.

Drop small portions of the batter carefully into the hot oil. Don’t overcrowd the pan.

Fry turning till golden brown .

Remove the gulgule from the oil onto a paper towel .

Serve once done.
