SOUTHINDIAN RADISH STYLE STIR FRY/MULLANGI PORIYAL /MOOLI RECIPE

INGREDIENTS

Radish /mooli /mullangi  chopped – 2 cup

Green chilli chopped 2 or as per taste

Oil – 2 tsp

Mustard seeds + jeera – 1 tsp

Crushed garlic – 2 tsp

Freshly grated coconut – 2 or 3 tbsp

Sugar – ¼ tsp

Salt to taste

PREPARATION.

Clean , wash and rinse the leaves. Chop it finely. Scrape the skin and chop the white part.

METHOD

Heat oil in a pan / kadai , add mustard seeds + jeera and let it crackle.

Add crushed garlic + green chilli and fry till translucent.

Add the chopped radish white part and mix well.

Drizzle 2 tbsp water and mix well.

Cover and cook for few mins till it is cooked. Don’t overcook.

Top it with the greens ,mix well .

Cover and cook for 2 mins .

Allow the leaves to sweat .

Open the lid and mix well .

Now stir and cook till complete water evaporates and the leaves are cooked.

Finally add the grated coconut and mix well.

Off the flame .

Serve as a side dish .
