AVACADO TOAST RECIPE

Avocado toast is an open sandwich consisting of toasted bread topped with mashed avocado, plus any of a variety of spices and flavorful ingredients; the most popular include salt and black pepper, lemon juice or other citrus flavors, olive oil, hummus, vinegar, red pepper, feta, duqqa and tomato.

Full of good fats, dietary fiber, protein and vitamins, avocados are a healthy breakfast, lunch, or anytime snack. Our good ‘n healthy avocado toast makes a great breakfast, lunch, or anytime snack.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 ripe avocado
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 3 or 4 tbsp finely chopped onion
  • 1 green chilli finely chopped
  • 1 garlic clove finely minced
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped coriander leaves
  • ¼ tsp  freshly ground black pepper
  • 3 or 4 tbsp finely chopped deseeded tomato
  • Bread / garlic bread

METHOD

For the best taste, use ripe avocados. 

Press and check . If unripe keep the avocados at room temperature until they are ready.

Cut the avocados in half. Remove the pit.

Scoop out the flesh with a spoon and chop it roughly.

Mash the avocado with a fork and make it as chunky or smooth as you’d like. It takes time to mash it.

(Don’t overdo mashing . The topping should be a little chunky.)

Now add all the other ingredients one by one and mix well.

Taste and adjust the additional ingredients as needed.

Now toast the bread well till golden and crisp on both sides .

Use a fork or spoon to load the avocado mixture onto each slice of toast.

Serve avocado toast immediately as a snack or breakfast.

We can add boiled chicken or egg to make it more healthy.
