FLAX SEEDS CHUTNEY PODI / ALSI CHUTNEY POWDER

Besides Omega-3, flaxseeds are packed with lignans, a type of phytoestrogen, which contributes to various health benefits, including reducing the risk of heart disease, osteoporosis, and easing menopausal symptoms.

INGREDIENTS

  • Flax seeds – ½ cup
  • Jeera – 1 tsp
  • Coconut – 3 tbsp [ optional ]
  • Red chilli pwdr – 1 ½ or 2 tsp or as per taste
  • Garlic cloves – 8 to 10
  • Tamarind – small piece
  • Jaggery – 1 ½ tsp
  • Salt to taste

METHOD

Dry roast flax seeds till it splutters.

Once done transfer to a plate and keep aside.

In the same pan dry roast the jeera

Add the coconut and roast till golden

Switch off the flame.

Add chilli powder and mix well.

Once cool , add the jaggery + garlic + jaggery.

Transfer to a mixie jar and grind everything to a coarse powder. Check for taste and adjust ingredients .

Store in a container in the fridge and use as needed .

Goes well with tamarind rice , lemon rice , plain rice, idli, dosa etc.
