SIRKE WALI PYAAZ / INSTANT PICKLED ONIONS

INGREDIENTS

·         Onion sliced or small mini onions or shallots – 1 cup

·         White vinegar / lemon juice –  1 or 2 tsp

·         Salt to taste + a pimch of sugar

·         Little red chilli pwdr if required [optional ]

·         Beetroot juice – ½ or 1 tsp [depending on the shade you want ]

SIRKE WALI PYAAZ / INSTANT PICKLED ONIONS

METHOD

Mix vinegar + salt + beetroot juice + red chilli pwdr and mix well.

Add the onions and mix well .Cover and keep aside for minimum 15 mins or more .

NOTES

1.       U can reduce or increase the vinegar as per your taste.

2.      More the vinegar ,more sour the onions.

3.      Stays good for few days if refrigerated .

4.      Once you consume the onions ,the extra juice can be reused ,instead of throwing away . Just add more onions to the leftover juice and use.

5.      Some add food colour instead of beetroot juice .
