INSTANT MATHURA KA PEDA /MATHURA NA PENDA

Pede or peda in Hindi translates to Indian dessert made with milk solids (mawa/khoya) and Boora – it’s a very fine quality of sugar.
This classic sweet treat hails from the town of Mathura, the birthplace of Lord Krishna, which is nested in the Northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
Hence these sweet delicacies are called ‘Mathura ke pede.’ Translated it means, ” Mathura famous milk solid treats.”
This pede is also known as Mathura ke Dharwad pede!
Usually these are made with mawa , but here we will make with milkpowder .
INGREDIENTS
METHOD [ total cooking time 20 – 25 mins on low flame ]
Heat 2 tbsp ghee in a broad pan on low flame
Add milk powder and mix well.
Stir continoulsy and cook on low flame for 5 mins .
See that there are no lumps .
Add 1 tbsp ghee again after 5 mins, stir and fry on low flame.
After 5 mins again add 1 tbsp ghee and stir fry.
Again add 1 tbsp and stir fry for 5 mins till colour changes to golden brown .
Add milk and mix well .
Stir and cook till crumbly texture and colour changes completely till dark brown .
Allow it to cool .
Transfer to a mixie jar and blend into fine powder.
Transfer to a plate .
Add cardamom pwdr + nutmeg pwdr + sugar pwdr and mix well with hands .
Check by rolling a portion if it holds shape .
Start giving shapes. These pedas don’t have perfect shape .I have used a peda mould .
Finally roll the pedas over the sugar powder .
