BANANA JAGGERY PANCAKE RECIPE /  MEETHA ATTA CHILLA / SWEET CHEELA

BANANA JAGGERY PANCAKE RECIPE /  MEETHA ATTA CHILLA / SWEET CHEELA

Sweet Cheela is an instant sweetened dosa , that can be prepared quickly in 10 minutes. It is a perfect recipe to prepare when you are in a hurry.

It also makes a decent breakfast/ snack , different from the usual things we have.

I am sure the kids are going to love it.

These pancakes are made with wheat flour , sugar / jaggery ,  banana / yoghurt and flavoured with cardamom powder and fennel seeds .

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 very ripe banana
  • ¼ cup sugar or jaggery [ as per taste ] + ¼ water
  • ¾ cup water / milk
  • 1 cup wheat flour
  • 1 tsp  lightly crushed fennel seeds
  • Pinch of salt
  • Pinch of baking soda
  • Ghee

METHOD

Take jaggery +  ¼  cup water in a pan and cook till jaggery melts completely . Off the flame and let it cool .

Take banana 🍌 in a mixie jar and blend it.

Take flour + salt + fennel seeds+ baking soda and mix well.

Now filter and add the syrup + banana 🍌puree + water / milk and mix well.

Adjust the conisistency like dosa batter and as shown in video. DON’T MAKE IT THIN

To form the chilla , heat the non stick pan on medium flame .

Wipe with a tissue paper.

Now take a large spoonful of the batter and spread it into a thick round shape. The pan has to be 🔥 hot.

The thick ones will take a little longer time to cook.

Drizzle little ghee allover.

Cook on medium heat from both sides for 2 – 3 minutes or until done.

Serve hot.

NOTES

  1. Jaggery can be replaced with sugar and the sweetness can be adjusted as per your taste and sweetness of the banana.
  2. While making the batter ,do not add the water all at once, else it will form large lumps.
  3. Use a heavy bottom tawa to make these meetha chillas, preferably a non stick else they might stick.
  4. Do not cook these on very high heat else the chillas will remain uncooked from the inside.
