HOW TO GROW METHI AT HOME / HOMEGROWN METHI

To grow fenugreek (also known as methi) at home, start by filling a pot or container with well-draining potting mix, then sow the seeds about 1/2 inch deep and 2 inches apart. Keep the soil consistently moist, not waterlogged, and ensure the plant receives ample sunlight. Germination usually takes 3-5 days, and you can harvest the leaves within 3-4 weeks when they reach about 6 inches tall.

Choose the right container and soil.

Select a pot or container with drainage holes to prevent waterlogging.

A good potting mix should be well-draining, rich, and slightly acidic, with equal parts of garden soil, coco coir, compost.

Ensure the soil is loose and doesn’t compact easily.

Sprinkle fenugreek seeds evenly on the soil surface.

Cover the seeds with a thin layer of soil, about 1/4 inch deep.

Space the seeds about 2 inches apart to allow for proper growth.

Provide proper care:

Keep the soil consistently moist, but not overly wet. Sprinkle water regularly, especially during germination and early growth.

Sunlight: Fenugreek needs at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day.

Air Circulation: Ensure good air circulation around the plants.

Fenugreek seeds germinate quickly, usually within 2 to 3 days.

The plant should be ready for harvest within 3-4 weeks when it reaches about 6 inches in height.

For baby methi you can harvest after 7 to 10 days.
