RIDGE GOURD CHICKEN KHEEMA / TORI  ,TURAI CHICKEN KHEEMA

INGREDIENTS

  • Chicken kheema – 500 grms
  • Soft gourd or ridge gourd – 500 grms
  • Onion finely chopped – 1 big
  • Ginger garlic paste – 2 tsp
  • Tomato puree – 2
  • Oil – 2 or 3 tbsp
  • Red chilli pwdr- 1 ½ tsp or as per taste
  • Turmeric – ¼ tsp
  • Coriander pwdr – 2 tsp
  • Garam masala – 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Finely chopped coriander leaves to garnish

METHOD

Peel and chop the gourd into small cubes.

Heat oil in a cooker and stir fry the onions till golden brown .

Add ginger garlic paste and stir fry till raw smell leaves.

Add tomato puree + salt and stir fry till oil separates.

Add red chilli pwdr + coriander pwdr + turmeric pwdr and cook for few seconds.

Add the gourd and mix well.

Now add the chicken kheema and mix well.

Stir fry for 2 to 3 mins.

NO NEED TO ADD WATER , AS THE VEGETABLE RELEASES WATER.

Cover and pressure cook upto 2 whistles.

Once the pressure releases open the cooker .

Add garam masala pwdr and give a nice mix .

If it is very watery reduce it by cooking .

Garnish with coriander leaves.

Serve hot with a dash of lemon juice .

Note ✋️ same recipe can be tried with soya chunks. Replace chicken kheema with 1/2 cup soya granules. Soak it in warm water for 30 mins and use.While cooking add 1/4 cup 💧 water.
