Easy oats porridge recipe
EASY OATS PORRIDGE / OATS SOUP
Oatmeal is a type of coarse flour made of hulled oat grains that have either been milled or steel-cut. Ground oats are also called “white oats”. Steel-cut oats are known as “coarse oatmeal”, “Irish oatmeal” or “pinhead oats”. Oats are commonly eaten for breakfast as oatmeal, which is made by boiling oats in water or milk. Oatmeal is often referred to as porridge.

INGREDIENTS
- Oats – 1 cup
- Ghee / oil – 2 tsp
- Jeera – 1 tsp
- Curry leaves few
- Salt to taste
- Water – 3 or 4 cup
- lemon slice and pepper pwdr to serve.

METHOD
Heat ghee in a pan .
Add jeera , let it crackle .
Add curry leaves and give a mix .
Add oats and mix well .
Stir and fry the oats for 2 mins on medium flame .
Add water and mix well.
Cook on medium flame till its done. [ 5 to 6 mins ]
The porridge thickens on cooling , so don’t reduce water quantity .
Serve hot with lemon and pepper pwdr .
NOTES
We can also add finely chopped veges .
