VEGETABLE MASALA OATS / OATS VEG MASALA KHICHDI

INGREDIENTS

  • Oats – 1 cup [ quaker ]
  • Oil / ghee- 2 tsp
  • Jeera – 1/2 tsp
  • Mixed veg finely chopped – 1/2 – 1 cup [boiled peas + beans + carrot + capsicum ]
  • Finely chopped onion – 1 small
  • Tomato finely chopped – 1 small
  • Green chilli – 2 or as per taste chopped
  • Ginger grated – 1/2 tsp
  • Curry leaves – few
  • Coriander pwdr – 1 tsp
  • Kitchen king masala /gram masala – 1/4 tsp
  • Red chilli pwdr – 1/4 tsp
  • Turmeric – generous pinch
  • Finely chopped coriander leaves for garnish
  • Water – 2 1/2 to 3 cup

METHOD

Dry roast the oast for few seconds till hot to avoid stickiness .[optional ]

Heat 2 teaspoon oil in pan , add cumin seeds  let it sizzle.

Add finely chopped green chilies, + curry leaves + ginger + onion  to it,  sauté till translucent .

Add tomato + salt and fry till soft .

Add the veges and fry for 2 or 3 mins till soft.

Add masala pwdrs ,mix well and fry for few seconds.

Add water and mix well.

Once it starts boiling , add the oats and mix well.

Cook for 3 to 4 mins .

Garnish with coriander leaves .

Off the flame .

Serve hot.
