QUICK AND EASY SOUTHINDIAN MORU KULAMBU / TAMIL NADU STYLE DAHI KADHI RECIPE

INGREDIENTS

  • Curd – 1 cup [ 200 ml ]
  • Grated coconut – ¼ cup
  • Green chilli – 3 or as per taste
  • Ginger – a small piece
  • Garlic – 2
  • Shallots – 2
  • Turmeric – ¼ tsp
  • Coriander leaves – handful
  • Jeera – ½ tsp
  • Oil – 2 or 3 tsp
  • Mustard seeds – ½ tsp
  • Fenugreek seeds – a pinch
  • Asafoetida – a generous pinch
  • Curry leaves
  • Dry chilli – 1 or 2
  • Salt to taste

METHOD

Grind together coconut + ginger + garlic + green chilli + shallots + turmeric into a fine paste by adding ½ cup water.

Add the curd and blend .

Now adjust water as per the consistency you want .

Add salt to taste .

Heat a pan with oil .

Crackle mustard seeds + jeera + fenugreek seeds.

Add asafoetida + curry leaves + red chilli and give mix .

Lower the flame and add the curd mixture and mix well.

Stir and cook on low flame till the mixture becomes hot,

Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.

Immediately off the flame, the kadhi should not boil .

Once done serve with rice and any other side dish.
