CHINESE IDLI RECIPE

VEG IDLI NOODLES/CHINESE STYLE IDLI HAKKA NOODLES/IDLI NOODLES RECIPE/CHINESE IDLI RECIPE /INDO CHINESE IDLI FRY RECIPE /VEGETABLE FRIED IDLI /LEFTOVER IDLI RECIPES

INGREDIENTS

  • 5 leftover idlis
  • ½  cup onion thinly sliced (chopped lengthwise)
  • ½  cup carrot thinly sliced lengthwise
  • ½  cup cabbage
  • ¼  cup capsicum
  • 1 tbsp finely minced garlic
  • 1 small green chilli finely chopped
  • 1 tsp soya sauce
  • 1 tbsp red chilli sauce
  • 2 tsp tomato ketchup
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • Finely chopped coriander leaves / spring onion greens as required for garnish

PREPARATION

Refrigerate for few hours or overnight to make them firm . I have used overnight refrigerated fridge.

NOTE – It’s a must to refrigerate the idlis , else they will be crumbly while slicing .

Slice the idlis vertically as shown .

METHOD

Heat oil in a pan.

Add garlic + green chilli and stir fry for few seconds. Colour should not change .

Add onion and stir fry for a min.

Add carrot and stir fry for a min .

Add capsium and stir fry for few seconds.

Add the cabbage and stir fry for a min.

Adjust salt . [ add less as idli has salt and also we are adding soya sauce ]

Add soya sauce + tomato ketchup + chilli sauce and give a nice mix.

Note here you can drizzle 1 or 2 tsp water for moisture .

Add the idlis and give a nice gentle  mix .

Toss it well till all blend well.

Once done off the flame and garnish with onion greens .

Serve hot .

NOTES

  1. Adjust sauces as per taste.
  2. Add veges of your choice.
  3. Don’t over cook the veges , it should have the crunch .
