HARA BHARA KABAB RECIPE
A healthy & delicious Indian vegetarian snack. Hara bhara kabab are vegetarian kababs made with spinach, potatoes and green peas. Hara bhara kebab recipe is a delicious variation of vegetarian kabab. i
INGREDIENTS
- Palak – 3 cup
- Methi leaves – 1 cup [optional]
- Green peas – ½ cup [cooked and mashed a bit]
- Potato – 3 medium [boiled and mashed well]
- Finely chopped coriander leaves – 2 tbsp
- Ginger + garlic + green chilli paste – 1 tbsp
- Kasoori methi pwdr – 1 tsp [ gives more flavour ]
- Chaat masala – 1 tsp
- Bread slices – 2 or 3
- Corn flour for dusting
- Salt as per taste
- Oil for shallow fry
PREPARATION.
Boil the palak for 4 mins , allow it to cool and blend it without water.
Chop the methi leaves finely and stir fry it till complete water evaporates.
Cook the potato and mash it well so that no lumps remain.
Cook the green peas and mash it a bit.
Tear the bread slices into small pieces.
METHOD.
Take the mashed potato + palak puree + methi + all the ingredients except oil.
Mix well , divide in equal portion and make small balls.
Flatten it within both your palms ,roll it on flat surface .
Place a piece of cashew on the top.
Dust it with cornflour on all sides.
Shallow fry it on both the sides till they are evenly cooked.
Serve hot with chutney or sauce.
NOTES
- Saute the ginger garlic chilli patse in oil so that there is no raw smell.
- We can also add roasted besan flour for binding instead of bread.
- Adjust the spices as per your taste.
- You can also add garam masala.
- If the dough is sticky refrigerate it for few hrs or add bread crumbs,
- You can adjust the quantity of ingredients as per your taste.
- For crispier tikkis coat it with bread crumbs.
- You can also deep fry it.
- While making for little ones replace green chilly with pepper pwdr.
- By adding methi leaves and kasoori methi pwdr enhances the flavour.
- Always before frying the tikkis or patties or cutlets refrigerate for sometime.
