HEALTHY BLACK RICE PORRIDGE RECIPE FOR WEIGHTLOSS

Black rice, also known as Karuppu Kavuni rice has many benefits. It is a healthy variety of rice that offers lots of health benefits.

Black rice, also known as forbidden rice, is considered a neutral food and does not have a specific cooling or heating effect.

INGREDIENTS

Black rice – 1 cup

NOTE – for porridge we need to grind the rice and then make the porridge . there are different ways to grind .

METHOD 1

Wipe the rice well and grind into coarse powder .

METHOD – 2

Dry roast the Rice on medium flame for 3 – 5 minutes till the aroma come. Switch off the flame and grind it to a  powder . 

METHOD – 3

Soak over night .drain water completely and grind .

METHOD 4

First wash black rice then drain.
Keep a pan add drained black rice roast it well till it pops. Now cool and grind lack rice to a coarse mixture keep ready.

METHOD OF COOKING

For 1 cup rice we need 5 cup water.

Pressure cook with salt  on medium flame upto 4 to 5 whistles.

[ Note – close the cooker after it starts boiling  ]

While cooking we can jeera and garlic.

While serving we can dilute with warm water or milk or buttermilk or coconut milk  .

We can also add grated coconut .

Serve it with any kind of side accompaniments .

NOTE – While cooking in cooker , we can keep the rice in a separate tin as shown in video .
