OATS BEETROOT CHILLA RECIPE
Cheela / chilla is a dish that can be prepared in no time and served as a delightful breakfast or snack meal. This popular breakfast meal can be eaten any time of the day when hunger strikes.
Conventionally, cheela is made with besan (gram flour), which is full of proteins and energises the body. To stir up the nutritional quotient of besan cheela, you can add in oats and any veg puree .

INGREDIENTS [ 1 cup – 250 ml ]
- 1 Cup Oats
- ½ cup besan
- 1 medium size beetroot
- 4 tbsp Sooji
- 2 tbsp curd
- Ginger garlic – 2 tsp
- Green chilli paste – 1 or 1 ½ tsp or as per taste
- Salt to taste
- ½ tsp ajwain
- ¼ tsp red chilli pwdr
- ½ tsp chaat masala
- 3 tbsp finely chopped coriander leaves
- ½ cup finely chopped onion
- Ghee / oil to drizzle
METHOD
Peel and chop the beetroot.
Transfer to a mixie jar , add ginger + garlic + green chilli and grind it .Make a fine puree by adding 1 cup water .
Now add oats in a mixer jar and grind it into a smooth batter .
Transfer to a mixing bowl ,add besan + sooji all other ingredients one by one .
Mix everything well. Cover and keep aside for minimum 15 mins .
Mix the batter well , theats an d rava absorbs the water .
Gradually add water as required and make a thin batter like dosa batter consistency .
Whisk to a smooth flowing consistency in the batter without any lumps.
Heat a tawa, when the tawa is hot, pour a ladle of oats cheela batter and spread it to thin circle with back of the ladle.
Cook for sometime on medium flame
Pour little oil / ghee around the cheela and cook cheela on medium flame.
Continue to cook till the base gets light golden.
Then flip and cook on the other side
Repeat the same for the rest of the cheela batter.
Serve the delicious oats beetroot besan chilla with tomato ketchup or coriander chutney or any other side disjes .
