HOW TO COOK SAFFOLA MASALA OATS

INGREDIENTS

  • Saffola masala oats – 1 small pkt
  • Oil / ghee- 2 tsp
  • Jeera – 1/2 tsp
  • Mixed veg finely chopped – 1/2 cup [ boiled peas + capsicum + carrot ]
  • Finely chopped onion – 1 small
  • Tomato finely chopped – 1 small
  • Green chilli – 1 chopped
  • Ginger grated – ½  tsp
  • Curry leaves – few
  • Red chilli pwdr – ¼ tsp or as per taste
  • Turmeric – generous pinch
  • Finely chopped coriander leaves for garnish
  • Water – 1 1/2 cup

METHOD

Heat 2 teaspoon oil in pan , add cumin seeds  let it sizzle.

Add finely chopped green chilies, + curry leaves + ginger + onion  to it,  sauté till translucent .

Add tomato  and fry till soft .

Add the veges and fry for 2 or 3 mins till soft.

Add masala pwdrs ,mix well and fry for few seconds.

Add the masala oats and mix well .

NOTE – if you don’t want sticky texture , then stir fry the oats for 1 minute here OR directly add water .

Add water and mix well.

Taste and adjust salt if required , be careful as salt is already there in oats pkt .

Cook for 2 to 3 mins . It will be watery , but it thickens as it cooks .

Garnish with coriander leaves .

Off the flame .

Serve hot.
