INSTANT HERBED RICE RECIPE

INSTANT HERBED RICE

Herb Rice is a delicious and simple side . Use fresh or dried herbs to give this dish amazing flavor. Use a long grain rice such as basmati or jasmine. We can use leftover rice also .

INGREDIENTS

  • Olive oil – 1 tbsp
  • Butter – 1 tbsp
  • Cooked rice – cup
  • Minced garlic – 1 tbsp
  • Finely chopped onion – 1 small
  • Exotic veges  [ OPTIONAL ]– 1 cup [ capsicum/ bell peppers/mushroom / corn / zucchini etc ]
  • Chilli flakes – ½ tsp or as per taste
  • Mixed herbs / oregano / pizza spice – 1 ½  tsp or as per taste
  • Pepper pwdr – ¼ tsp  tsp
  • Finely chopped spring onion leaves / coriander leaves as needed

NOTE  – we can also add fresh basil / parsley leaves.

METHOD

Heat butter + oil  on low heat in a pan.

Add chopped garlic and fry till translucent .

Add the veges and stirfry for 1 or 2 mins.

Don’t overcook , the veges should have the crunch .

Once done add herbs + chilli  flakes + pepper powder + salt , toss them well for about a minute.

Add the cooked rice to the pan and mix well to combine.

Simmer for a min and off the flam e.

Once done, turn off the heat and transfer it to a serving bowl.

Serve buttered herbed rice with any gravy or sauce of your choice.
