KHAJOOR SUGAR FREE PEDA

INGREDIENTS

  • Soft dates – 12 to 15
  • Hot milk – ½ cup
  • Ghee – 2 tbsp
  • Milk powder – 1 cup
  • Desiccated coconut – ¾ cup
  • Milk – ½ cup
  • Jaifal powder – 1/4 tsp
  • Cardamom powder – 1/4 tsp
  • Desiccated coconut + finley chopped dry fruits for garnish – as needed

NOTE – Instead of  coconut we can us badam or cashew powder

METHOD [ cooking time is more for this recipe ]

Take the dates in a bowl and add hot milk to it . Soak for 15 mins

Transfer to a mixie jar and grind into thick paste and keep aside .

Heat a non stick pan with 1 tbsp ghee .Add milk powder and mix well .

Stir and cook on low flame for 8 to 10 mins till golden brown in shade.

Now gradually add milk and mix well.

 See that no lumps are formed .

Stir and cook for 4 to 5 mins to get a melted mawa texture . Now your instant Mawa is ready .

The mixture should not be dry .

Now add the coconut + dates paste + ghee + cardamom pwdr + jaifal pwdr  and mix well .

Stir and cook on low flame for 5 to 6 mins till the mixture starts leaving the sides of pan and becomes a soft dough as shown in video .

The mixture starts sticking to the pan , be careful . TIP – you can on and off the flame during this process .

Once done off the flame , transfer to a big plate and allow to cool

Divide the mixture into 15 small lemon size portions and roll into smooth balls.

Give any shape of your choice and garnish with desiccated coconut and dry fruits .
