Sweet potato paratha
SWEET POTATO PARATHA / SWEET ALOO PARATHA WITHOUT STUFFING /RATALU PARATHA
Easy to prepare with few ingredients and no stress of stuffing and rolling .No stress of paratha breaking and stuffing coming out.
Sweet potatoes, often inaccurately called yams, are considered a superfood, thanks to their many health benefits,
They’re loaded with beta carotene, which functions as a potent antioxidant and a rich source of vitamin A.
INGREDIENTS
- Boiled and mashed sweet potato – 2 Cup
- Wheat flour – 2 cup
- green chilli + garlic + ginger paste – 1 tbsp
- Finely chopped coriander leaves – ½ cup
- Kasoori methi – 1 tbsp
- Chaat masala – ½ tsp
- Roasted jeera pwdr – ½ tsp
- Garam masala powder – ½ tsp
- Chaat masala – ½ tsp
- Amchur pwdr – ½ tsp
- Ajwain – ½ tsp
- Turmeric pwdr – ¼ tsp
- Chilli pwdr – ½ tsp
- Salt as per taste
- Oil /ghee for frying the parathas .
METHOD
Take mashed sweet potato + all other ingredients one by one and mix well.
Now slowly add the flour and mix well and knead to the consistency of paratha dough as shown in the pic. [I have not used any liquid to knead the dough]
If you are not able to need and the mixture is dry , then sprinkle little water and knead.
Divide the dough into big balls.
Roll it into circles with the thickness you want.
Both thin and thick taste nice .
Fry it on a hot tava by applying ghee or oil on both the sides till brown spots appear.
Fry on medium flame.
Serve hot with any dip, green chutney ,peanut chutney pwdr ,sauce , curd + pickle ,non-veg gravies.
NOTES.
- Mash the sweet potato very well.
- You can also try other parathas prepared in the same way where in you don’t have the stress off stuffing and rolling it which sometimes breaks and the stuffing oozes out.
