SWEET POTATO PARATHA FOR FASTING / SHAKKARIYA VRAT  RECIPE /RATALU RECIPE

This recipe is a farali recipe presented specially for coming shivratri festival. shakkariya paratha combined with curd and fried chilies makes a perfect farali dish.

INGREDIENTS

  • ! cup sweet potato boiled , peeled and mashed
  • 1 tbsp ginger + green chilli paste
  • 2 tbsp Chopped coriander leaves [ optional ]
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper powder
  • 1 tsp roasted jeera powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 cup rajgira flour /bagar flour / singhada flour
  • Oil or ghee as needed for roasting the parathas

METHOD

In a big and deep bowl add rajgira flour + 1 cup mashed sweet potato

Add all other ingredients one by one and mix well .

Start kneading.

Add 1 tsp  oil and knead again

Cover the dough with a moist kitchen towel and keep aside for 15 mins

Divide the dough into 5 – 6 balls equal sized balls are ready

Lightly spread some sesame seeds and roll the parathas , do not roll them very thin.

If you are not able to roll with rolling pin , then tap it as shown in video .

Heat a  pan and place the rolled paratha on it .

When bubbles appear flip and cook on other side .

Now apply ghee or oil and cook till done .

Flip them many times until crispy and golden . Press on the edges to cook uniformly

Once done remove and serve with any side accompaniments .
