BUN DOSA RECIPE

QUICK BUN DOSA  RECIPE

Bun Dosa is a thick dosa made in a kadhai.

Bun dosas are made from the fermented  batter made from 1 cup rice + ½ or 1  tsp methi seeds + ¼  cup poha /murmura + ¼ cup coconut .

INGREDIENTS

  • Bun dosa batter or any idli or dosa batter – 2 cup
  • Oil – 2 tsp
  • Mustard seeds + urad dal – 1 tsp
  • Finley miced green chilli – ½
  • Curry leaves – few
  • Ghee or oil as needed to roast the dosa

METHOD

Heat a small pan with oil , splutter mustard seeds  +  urad dal +  chilli + curry leaves.

Pour the tempering over the batter and mix well.

Adjust salt as needed .

Heat the appe pan and grease with oil.

Pour a big ladleful of batter in the centre .

Note – no need to spread the batter

Cover and cook on low flame  for 2 minutes.

Flip the dosa once the base turns golden brown .

Cover and cook on both sides till the dosa is cooked uniformly .

Serve bun dosa with coconut chutney or any other side accompaniments .

IMPORTANT TIP – do add some grated veges like carrot / beetroot or finely chopped onion to the batter for perfect texture .
