PALAK MASALA JOWAR POORI

RECIPE BY TANVI CHAWDA

INGREDIENTS

  • Jowar flour  – ½ cup
  • Wheat flour  – ½  cup
  • Palak leaves – 15
  • Green chilli – 1
  • Garlic – 4 or 5
  • Ginger – a small piece
  • Roasted jeera powder – ½ tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil – for deep frying

METHOD

Take palak + green chilli + ginger + garlic and make a smooth puree. Don’t add much water.we need roughly ½ cup puree to knead the dough .

In a wide plate take jowar flour + wheat flour +  salt + jeera pwdr and mix well

Gradually add the palak puree and start kneading the dough.

Knead it into a tight dough like regular poori dough.

Allow the dough to rest for 15 minutes

Heat oil in a frying pan.

Divide the dough into small portions equally just like we do for regular poori.

Roll each balls into small flattened  circle.

Now slide the flattened dough in hot oil.

Once it puffs up flip and cook.

Strain and remove on a paper towel. Serve it hot with gravy of your choice.

I served it with sindhi makhni dal _ NO TOMATO DAL / SINDHI MAKHNI DAL

Note – you can make make simple regular poori also by using water to knead the dough .

NOTES

  1. Knead the dough well .
  2. For variation we can add kasoori methi to the dough .
