SARGAVA NU SHAAK SARGAVO / DRUMSTICK IN BESAN AND CURD GRAVY

INGREDIENTS

  • 200 grms drumstick
  • 6 tbsp curd
  • 2 tbsp gram flour
  • 2 to 4  tbsp oil
  • ½ tsp mustard
  • ¼ tsp asafoetida
  • 8 garlic cloves
  • ½ tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp red chilly powder  
  • salt to taste

METHOD

Pressure cook the drumstick pieces with little salt + 1 ½ cup water upto 2 whistles . Don’t discard the water .

Mix the curd + besan well and keep aside.There should be no lumps .

Take turmeric pwdr + chilli pwdr  + ¼ cup water .

Heat oil in a pan , add mustard and let it crackle .

Add asafoetida and give a mix.

Add garlic and stir fry for a min .

Add the masala paste and stir fry for a min.

Add the cooked drumstick with the water and mix well .

Bring it to a boil .

Add the curd besan mixture and mix well.

Stir and cook for a min .

Lower the flame , cover and cook for just 3 to 4 mins

OFF THE FLAME.

Serve hot with any indian bread.

Note – to serve with rice, you need to add more water to the gravy …
